$47.0B wasted
Govt ignored 89% of PC recommendations — $47B in savings unrealised
The Productivity Commission 10-year review found Commonwealth departments implemented only 11% of its 240 major recommendations. The unimplemented recommendations represented an estimated $47 billion in potential economic productivity gains. The government own research body — ignored. The savings — uncollected. The reforms — not done.
