$2.4B wasted
$2.4B of your taxes spent on Closing the Gap targets that are failing
The National Indigenous Australians Agency received $4.3 billion in 2025-26, yet only 31% of Closing the Gap targets are on track — missing the 70% benchmark by a massive 55.7 percentage points. That means roughly $2.4 billion of your money is flowing into programs that aren't delivering the outcomes they were set up to achieve. After years of funding and countless reports, First Nations outcomes are going backwards on the majority of targets.
