$22M wasted
$22M blown on BoM cloud migration cost overruns with Amazon Web Services
The Bureau of Meteorology handed Amazon Web Services a $67 million limited tender contract for data centre migration and cloud services — but the project blew out by 49%, meaning roughly $22 million of your taxes went on cost overruns alone. The contract was awarded through a limited tender process, meaning other providers weren't given a fair crack at competing for the work.
